Microsoft has entered an exclusive group of companies with a market valuation of more than $2 trillion (with a T).
Microsoft has flourished under CEO Satya Nadella, as the software giant has developed its cloud computing branch - Azure - while preserving its position as the de facto operating system of choice for most PC users and rapidly developing collaborative workspace Teams.
We're running out of terms to describe how massive these companies are, so it may be time to start creating hazy distinctions between "big tech" and "mega tech." Companies like Snapchat, Twitter, and Netflix are examples of "big tech," yet their total market value is less than $400 billion, or one-fifth of what Microsoft is currently worth.
