The term Japandi refers to an interior design style that blends features from Japanese and Scandinavian traditions.
According to a poll conducted by Furniture Today, 29 percent of customers say "modern" is their preferred home design style, up from 9 percent two years ago.
The same study found, 'traditional' was picked by 23% of respondents as the second most preferred style.
The Scandinavian term of 'hygge' refers to warmth and comfort. Japandi appeals to both of these consumer decor interests when combined with some of the more contemporary features of Japanese design.
