What do Crocs, the manufacturer of those unique foam clogs and sandals, and Zoom have in common? Not much, except that they both profited by the pandemic, producing record results in 2020 as we chose to wear the most comfortable shoes as we signed in for our fourth Zoom call of the day.
Zoom anticipates a slowing in revenue growth this year. Crocs are not. In fact, just as much of the globe is opening up, Crocs just had its biggest quarter ever, selling more than $640 million in Crocs and Crocs accessories in Q2.
The fact that Crocs are still smashing it far into 2021 implies that their marketing and rebranding may have had a larger role in their revival than the pandemic. Crocs has made a strong push towards collaborations, with its website now featuring Croc designs created in partnership with a slew of businesses and musicians, including Post Malone and Justin Bieber.
